- Range of Services: The following furniture shops have a huge selection of goods, so you can easily find a replacement that fits your needs. Even better, it lets you find more ideal options!
- Understanding Client Needs: One of the first things customers do at furniture stores is to ask staff whether they have a specific product or service. I chose the shops that can understand your needs so they can give them to you immediately.
- Reputation: I listed the shops with glowing reviews. After all, a huge number of positive customer comments is a great sign you’re at the right place.
- Ambiance and vibe: It can already be daunting to browse furniture shops. That’s why I chose the ones that offer a welcoming atmosphere that makes for a relaxing shopping experience.
- Value and cost-effectiveness: I chose the furniture stores in Galway that offer the best value for money. This is especially important if you prefer taking the time to check products at the store instead of ordering them online.
1. Harvey Norman

One look at Harvey Norman’s furniture store in Galway, and I knew it could provide what I was looking for. The place looked like a giant mall just for furniture.
Entering the building, a huge selection of sofas, cabinets, and other furnishings welcomed me. Even better, it’s an all-in-one hub for appliances, gaming consoles, and so much more.
Of course, I was there for furniture, so I focused on that. I asked someone nearby for directions to the kitchen furniture, and they kindly corrected me by saying they’re not part of the staff.
I apologized for that awkward exchange, and my fellow customer said it was okay. She also made this mistake a few times as she needed help navigating the numerous aisles!
Truly, Harvey Norman is one of the largest furniture stores in Galway. On my way to the kitchen section, I found numerous bed frames, dining furniture, and other household needs.
Thankfully, I found a real staff member who helped me navigate the store. They eventually told me about the store’s online services.
Aside from an online store, Harvey Norman also had 3D Virtual Shopping. It lets shoppers take a stroll through a 3D simulation of the store.
Either scroll and click with your mouse to move through the virtual space or put on a VR headset for a better experience.
What truly amazed me was the online measuring tool. It lets me fit a product’s dimensions with mine to ensure it will fit my home.
However, some customers expressed their disappointment for the online delivery service due to poor product handling and late deliveries.
“I was in Harvey Norman’s tech section recently and just wanted to share my experience. I was so impressed with Sonny who was the sales person who dealt with me. His product knowledge, friendliness and total professionalism was amazing. I purchased with ease of mind as a result. Thank you for making my purchase easy Sonny. Look out for this guy when you go in to the store!! keep up the good work Sonny. Thanks. Kiki”

“I phoned the tec department in Galway yesterday as I was having issues paying online. Dylan was more than helpful, helped me out and kept the products I needed until I got in to the store to pick them up.”

2. EZ Living Furniture

EZ Living Furniture is a bit smaller than other furniture stores in Galway, but it more than makes up for it with its quality section.
I checked their kitchen appliance section and found a nice table. “Wow, that’s expensive,” I said before a staff member approached me.
She told me that I could get a similar item for a lower price. That’s when I knew this store was dedicated to providing customers with the most affordable options.
Still, the representative reminded me to check the website before using the price-matching service to learn more about its terms and conditions.
What’s more, the shop provided helpful guides on how to choose which piece of furniture would best suit you. I also appreciated the lookbooks that let me check sample rooms.
These made it easier to visualize what a piece of furniture would look like at my place. Also, it these guides made it more convincing to purchase the entire set.
I also found the free delivery enticing. If I need to replace another piece of furniture, I could get a new one for zero delivery cost if it’s worth €129 and above.
However, I found the 14-day wait time for product returns disappointing, since that means I’ll have to stick with a rejected product for that long.
Gel Mattress
“Was looking for a gel mattress which I had bought a few years ago. As I’m changing bed to 4ft 6inch I needed a smaller mattress. Availed of the sale and bought it at a good price.”
- TDUBLIN, Trustpilot
“Excellent family owned store with super friendly staffs, great looking sofas in good price”
- Zoe Wong, Google
3. Cash Factory Furniture

Cash Factory stands out because of its unique services, such as second-hand furniture options. It’s a great way of finding decent furnishings for lower prices.
Yet, what delighted me initially was the free parking. Parking fees can be quite expensive, so it’s nice that I can just leave my car outside without worrying about how long I’ve left it in the lot.
Even better, they can also help the environment as they allow customers to reuse furniture instead of throwing it away immediately.
That’s a great plus for someone like me who cares about the environment. Moreover, it’s probably one of the few furniture stores in Galway that offers a mattress removal service.
For €25, Cash Factory will take away your existing mattress and replace it with the one you ordered. I found that very convenient as it means I won’t have to worry about getting rid of my old bed cushion.
Another thing that delighted me is their specific kitting service for landlords. It lets landlords save money on refurnishing their properties by packaging them into convenient and affordable kits.
I’m not a landlord, but mine might appreciate this service. Nevertheless, Cash Factory is a unique furniture shop for this service.
While I found nationwide delivery to be a welcome convenience, its terms are slightly more complicated than other stores.
Cash Factory divides Ireland into four zones with different delivery fees. If you’d like to get your new mattress brought to your residence, you really have to check the website for more info.
“Would highly recommend. We dealt with Kate, she was brilliant and helped us find all the furniture we needed for our new home”

4. The Furniture Emporium

The Furniture Emporium solves one of the issues I have with furniture shops: they usually look cluttered.
They show so many products arranged in different styles that it can be disorienting to move around the store.
Fortunately, The Furniture Emporium solves this issue by arranging the different pieces in a cohesive manner. This method also makes it easier to find what you’re looking for.
It also has a unique feature called the 90-Night Mattress Trial. It lets customers return their mattresses 60 to 90 days after delivery, so you can find the perfect one.
Even better, the store can provide credit for a new mattress in case you don’t like your new one after 90 days. I feel that this truly shows The Furniture Emporium’s commitment to providing quality customer service.
it’s one of the furniture stores in Galway with delivery fees that go as low as €9.95. Still, that may go up depending on your order size and destination.
However, one thing it could improve is its operating hours on Sundays. It’s only open from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM on those days, which is usually when people like me have free time to visit the store.
“I bought a kingsize douglas gas lift bed, would highly recommend it. Great quality loads of space, and looks great. The lads were very professional and helpful, I have recommended this store to loads of my friends and family. Great to support local Irish businesses when you can.”
- Marion Grealish, Google Review
Fantastic shop
“Bought a beautiful couch from The Furniture Emporium, I couldnt believe how helpful the staff were in store and on the delivery, will definitely be visiting again! Couch was delivered quite quickly and assembled for me. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to redecorate”
- Aoife Boyle, Google Review
5. G Furniture & Carpets

G Furniture and Carpets is a family-owned business that has been serving the community for more than 30 years.
While it doesn’t have the expansive selections from larger shops, it more than makes up for it with the customer service. As expected with a local business, the representatives seemed to know everyone who visited the store.
They engaged in a bit of small talk with most customers and even recommended stuff based on their personal needs. For example, I overheard someone who had returned twice to get another bed.
Eventually, the client admitted that he’d been just handing over the previous beds he’d purchased to his kids because he couldn’t find one that truly prevented back pain.
Fortunately, the representative worked closely with the elderly client to find the perfect bed. It’s the little things like this that keep me coming back to local shops!
I got to experience this warm customer service myself and was pleasantly surprised to feel like a long-time customer!
Even better, this family-run store had features you’d expect from larger brand names, such as free delivery when you buy a total of €500.
G Furniture & Carpets also had a Click & Collect service that lets customers choose items from the online store and then pick them up from the physical shop.
As much as I would like to visit again, it might be difficult because the store’s only closed on Sundays. Also, G Furniture & Carpets only had one furniture outlet.
“Friendly , helpful and knowledgeable staff. Good quality and great value.”
- Mary R Connolly, Facebook
“Great service, ordered some logs earlier today and were delivered to my door this evening with no hassle. A great local business going the extra mile”
