Great Consultation Service
Alena is creative, practical and professional. We had a 2 hour consultation in our house. 3 rooms need to be finished (were at various stages) but also needed to work for us functionally as a family. Excellent Advice and Recommendations
As we were moving into a new house it was the perfect opportunity to get some professional advice on a colour theme that would not only look well overall but also progress logically from room to room. Ruth was quickly able to give us definitive recommendations on colours that worked really well for the function of each room but also blended seamlessly from one part of the house to another. She selected just the perfect shade of red for our period dining room and came up with a beautiful combination of three shades for the hallway which I would never have thought of. “Our kitchen was looking tired and lacked the functionality of more modern kitchen designs. We visited all of the usual kitchen showrooms but we found that we became overwhelmed with the choice on offer and we didn’t know where to start. It was very difficult to get our ideas across to the sales people just by photos alone and they didn’t really get what we wanted. It always felt that they were looking more for the sale and the add-ons, than trying to tailor make a kitchen to a particular family. When Vyvyan became involved all of that changed completely. She spent ages talking to us and trying to understand the dynamic in the household and what we needed. By visiting our home, she could see that the main issue we had was the lack of light in the kitchen area. Also, that we did not have enough storage, our presses lacked functionality and it was difficult to reach items in the backs of them. Further to that, areas in the kitchen had become toy dumping grounds. She came up with a design for us, that incorporated loads of light and space into our kitchen. We feel like we have oceans more space even though we now have many more presses. Everybody who comes into the kitchen thinks we have gotten an extension even though the floor area is exactly the same. The colour scheme of taupe, grey, ivory is contemporary and modern but also ageless. Her suppliers for kitchen cabinets, stonework, and finishes such as flooring and decorating are all consummate professionals with exceptional finishing standards and pride in their work. All of this was achieved at a very reasonable price. In fact, probably the same as we would have paid for a ready-made kitchen but it looks several times more expensive. I would not hesitate to recommend Vyvyan. She listens and is down to earth and understanding. She also understands budget and will design a superb kitchen for any body’s needs.”
