Founded in 2008, Live & Breathe Pilates prides itself in teaching quality pilates to students of all backgrounds.
Before anything else, you’re given a free 15-minute online or in-studio consultation. Here, you will get to know their instructors and discuss which pilates plan is best for you.
Many of their past clients that we’ve spoken to suggested taking their initial assessment. This is a discounted one-on-one session where you’ll be guided and assessed to be able to make an informed recommendation on what plan you should choose.
Past clients also recommend enrolling in their Welcome Offers, which are exclusive to newbies. Here, you can choose between joining group classes or one-on-one sessions.
On top of that, they have a wide selection of specialized classes: mat, barre, and reformer.
Considerably the hardest out of the three is the Mat Class. This is because students will rely on their own strength and limited equipment to handle their body weight.
They have sub-classes here, too: Women’s Health for prenatal and postnatal mothers and babies, Barre Blitz for high-intensity training, and Fit for Life, which is best for those 60 and above.
The Reformer Class works on flexibility and strength with the use of a reformer machine. This is suitable for students of all levels of ability.
Lastly, their Barre Blitz Classes is a fun yet challenging workout that focuses on core stability, strengthening, and balance. This is best for injury-free students.
Oh, they also have varying class levels, too. Hence, you can attend which class suits your level of ability.
Even so, if you’re concerned about not having any prior knowledge or experience, Live & Breathe Pilates prides itself in teaching quality-centered classes.
Because of this, their classes are conducted in small groups of about four people. We appreciate this feature, as it ensures that the instructor is focused on each student’s movements.
Did we mention that they also have workshops? These cover sessions from vocal gymnastics to first aid as well as events catered to expanding knowledge on pilates.
Adding to their list of pros, they’re open every day and as late as 9 PM. This is a great convenience if you want to wind down after a long day at work or school.
However, their business hours vary per day. This can be confusing to some, so make sure to double-check the date and hours before scheduling an appointment.
Speaking of booking, you can do just that via their website or give them a ring.
Pros
- Well-equipped studio
- Offers in-studio and online classes
- Offers solo and group classes
- Offers specialized classes
- Small classes
- Open daily
Cons
- Irregular business hours
- Due to popularity, booking may be difficult
Has all the equipment you need and is kept clean and in great condition
“Live & Breathe Pilates is a brilliant Pilates studio…Steph and the team are all great instructors. I did a prenatal course and am currently doing a post natal one and both have been excellent.
The studio is really bright and airy and has all the equipment you need and is kept clean and in great condition. Since the outbreak of covid 19, the team at Live & Breathe has continued to provide support and classes. As soon as it was no longer safe to open the studio the instructors immediately went online and started to teach through zoom. Which has been a lifesaver at a crazy time! Because they’re done through zoom they can see what you’re doing and can correct you if you’re doing anything wrong which is brilliant. Definitely a top Pilates team that I can’t recommend highly enough.” – Morwenna Rice, Google Reviews
The classes are small so it feels more personal and there is something for every level
“I started attending Live and Breathe Pilates last year and I couldn’t recommend it more. I had no Pilates experience but Steph and all the teachers were very helpful and encouraging. In the space of a few months I progressed more than I have in any other type of exercise – my strength and flexibility have improved and I am more aware of my posture which is so important given I sit down all day! The classes are small so it feels more personal and there is something for every level.” – Clodagh Allen, Google Reviews
2. Real Bodies Pilates

Real Bodies Pilates was founded and currently run by Rosalind McManus. With over 22 years of local and international industry experience, McManus has garnered quite a reputation for her pilates and yoga expertise.
Her classes focus on full-body conditioning with the use of a mat, body weight, and minimal equipment. This includes mini balls, ankle/wrist weights, clocks, Pilates circles, and DynaBands.
There are three class levels that you can join with varying intensities. Each course lasts seven weeks for €105.
Aside from regular pilates, they have fitness pilates. This is a challenging and not beginner-friendly Pilates-based workout that’s really going to push you.
It’s a wee bit bothersome that you can only enroll in courses that are seven weeks long. So, even if you don’t attend every class, you’ll still have to pay for it.
Hence, we think their online classes may be a good option if you want a teaser of what their in-studio classes may be like. Here, you can drop in for only €10 or join ten classes for €80, which we think is quite a reasonable price.
We were also disappointed that they don’t offer any solo classes. This lack of variety could be a major turn-off for some who’d prefer one-on-one sessions with their instructor.
Keep in mind that they’re only open four days a week. Because of this, classes can get fully booked quickly, so we recommend signing up ASAP.
In case you can’t make it to their Glasnevin branch, they have another one in Rathfarnham, too. You can view both studios’ timetables on their website to see if they have an open slot for the class you’re eyeing.
Did we mention that they also offer yoga? We like this little feature since it allows you to switch up your routine every now and then if you’re getting tired of doing Pilates.
You can easily book a slot through their website that shows you which classes are still available. Payments can also be done via PayPal, which we think is a convenient touch.
Pros
- Offers yoga
- Offers in-studio and online classes
- Accepts payments via PayPal
- Multiple locations
Cons
- All courses are seven classes
- Open four days a week
- Doesn’t offer solo classes

Really enjoy it
“I’ve been going to Real Bodies Pilates for years and really enjoy it. Ros is an excellent instructor and always gives us options for several levels within an exercise so no matter how your feeling on any particular day you’ll find a level to suit you. Pilates has really helped my flexibility, espicially as I age, as well as my overall wellbeing. I’d recommend Real Bodies Pilates to anyone wanting to keep flexible and fit.” – Alison O Connor, Google Reviews
Classes tailored at different levels to suit everyone
“As an older ‘fun runner’ physio recommended Pilates for core strength, improved flexibility and injury prevention. Was so lucky to find Ros and Real Bodies Pilates which has made such a positive difference to my overall well being. Was worried as an absolute beginner that it would not work for me, but Ros is a great instructor with classes tailored at different levels to suit everyone.” – Ciaran Hoban, Google Reviews
3. Platinum Pilates

Platinum Pilates stood out to us because they have over 30 certified Pilates instructors on top of their physiotherapists and movement practitioners.
This is why we think they’re a good choice if you’re looking for a studio filled with a team of experts. Through them, we think you’ll learn and build a stronger connection to your body and mind.
We like that their Pilates levels range from one to three then advanced. Surely you’ll find a class that’s just right for your skill level.
You can choose to enroll in group classes or a private session as well as in-studio and online classes. Whichever you choose, you’ll still get hands-on support from your instructors.
Oh, another thing that caught our eye was their Clinical Physio Pilates—a combination of both physiotherapy and pilates. Here, you can book a one-on-one session with one of their movement experts for personalized progressive plans.
Did we mention that you can also claim these sessions from your insurance? They don’t elaborate much on this on their website, so you’ll have to inquire to learn more details about this.
Another aspect worth mentioning is their corporate workshops. They offer three programs dedicated to alleviating strain and increasing comfort for employees.
Namely, their Sitting Workshop, which involves sitting techniques to avoid migraines; Breathing & Sleeping Workshop; and Tailored Physio Workshops, which center around alleviating pain in the neck, shoulders, feet, and so on.
Despite being open daily and until late, their popularity may make it difficult to secure a slot in one of their classes.
If you can’t book a slot at their Rathmines branch, they have four more across Dublin. Hence, their locations are quite accessible either by car or public transportation.
For newbies, they have an Intro Offer at a discounted price for four sessions. Aside from that, we like that you can choose from availing of one class only to up to 50.
Even so, if you’re not one for in-studio sessions, you can buy access to their virtual library. You can choose from one-day access all the way up to one-year access.
We think this sets them apart from other entries, as you’re given a wide selection of options as to how you want to have your classes done.
Pros
- Large team
- Open daily
- Offers specialized classes
- Offers solo and group classes
- Well-equipped studio
- Multiple locations
- Sessions can be claimed through insurance

Great classes
“Great classes run by a super team of very experienced pilates instructors. The Clonskeagh studio is very well located is really modern and airy. Reformation is composed of a large passionate team that teaches reformer Pilates and yoga meditation.
Their reformer pilates class has three levels of difficulty. You can self-enroll into whichever level you think best fits your skillset.
Here, you’ll learn how to facilitate breathing while doing flexibility and strength-building movements. Their Mat Pilates has the same goal but instead of a machine, you’ll be using a mat.
Their Barre Pilates Classes will test your flexibility and make you feel the burn. Here, it’s a combination of ballet, yoga, and pilates.
Did we mention they also offer specialized classes? These include Yoga Mama, which is great for those expecting; 7 Minutes, which has a full spectrum of movements in a bite-sized class; and more.
Oh, another thing worth mentioning is that they host events, workshops, and even retreats. These are specialized classes that sometimes even have special guests that host them.
We think this is a fun way to add some spice to your regular Pilates routine, don’t you think?
It’s also great that they conduct both in-studio and online sessions. Clients can choose to have their classes in the comforts of their homes without having to sacrifice the hands-on attention of their instructors.
We also think they’re worth checking out because of their bubble classes. Here, you can have a private class with your family or friends as your classmates.
It’s great that you can choose between passes and monthly membership options. This way, you can only spend on what you’re going to use.
To add to their list of pros, they have a training program, too. You can enroll here if you’re ready to become a teacher and conduct your own classes.
They also have a list of limited-time offers such as discounts on their classes. You’ll have to keep an eye out for these announcements on their website, though.
Speaking of their website, you can easily book a slot and view their timetable there. You can also view your past and current enrollments, appointments, and other activity, too.

Though only a little over 10 years old, Physiofusion Dublin has already established a reputation in the industry and among clients for their warm and dedicated staff and effective classes.
For many of the clients we’ve spoken to, they praised how attentive and hands-on their instructors are. This is one of the reasons they’ve become a local favorite.
On top of that, they have a wide variety of purposeful Pilates options. By that, we mean that they have pilates classes specifically designed for C-section recovery, surgery recovery, back pain, and so on.
Unique to Physiofusion, their C-Section Pilates is a specific approach to improving core strength and mobility. Moms can enroll eight weeks after a successful C-section delivery.
They also offer Pregnancy Pilates and Postnatal Pilates. The former focuses on gentle movements targeting the pelvis and spine while the latter targets core strength and general health.
Meanwhile, their Pink Ribbon Pilates is tailored for those undergoing breast cancer treatment or surgery. This is a personalized six-week one-on-one program that helps improve their mobility and overall functions.
Of course, they also have regular Pilates classes for beginners and experienced individuals. We like that their classes are composed of only five students so their instructors can keep an eye on each student’s progress.
Aside from Pilates, they also offer pain management and physiotherapy. We think this feature will come in handy if you’re feeling a bit too sore for Pilates or want a change of routine.
Because of their wide variety of classes, it may be difficult to book a slot. The fact that they’re only open on weekdays doesn’t help either.
Hence, we recommend booking ASAP before classes get full. You can easily book via their website where you can also see the class openings and timeslots.
Pros
- Offers specialist classes
- Offers in-studio and online classes
- Offers solo and group classes
- Small classes

I found the classes to be outstanding
“I would highly recommend Physiofusion. I attended pregnancy and postnatal pilates with Lorraine over the last year. I found the classes to be outstanding. She was an excellent instructor who provided support in a clear and practical manner helping to ensure that I completed the exercises in the correct manner. Pilates Performance was founded 25 years ago. Its founder Sarah MacLachlann is a second generation Pilates Master and Educator, and Balanced Body educator/faculty for Ireland. She also specialises in Clinical Pilates and educating Pilates students.
What we like about this studio is that they have a wide range of pilates classes depending on level and individual needs and goals.
There are beginners classes, JumpBoard Reformer, Mat Pilates Neck & Spine course, and more.
They even have pilates for golf! That’s something we don’t find in all studios.
If you’re a qualified pilates instructor and would like to learn more, they even have Teachers Master Classes available.
We also like the different packages they have. If you’d like to become a studio member, they have options for you. If you’re more interested in one class or only a couple of classes, they’ve got you too!
We love how they have the live class schedule available on their website so it’s easy for us to choose which class to go to.
The classes themselves are amazing. The instructors have a personalised approach and know how to modify moves that are more difficult for some individuals.
They know how to correct but in an encouraging way. We know how scary it can can be to join classes like these, but they know how to make us feel comfortable!
Speaking of their classes, we like that they’re also generally small. We think this contributes to their ability to help each student out.
Their studio is open daily and we like that we can take a class any day we’d want to.
We always have a great time here so we highly recommend!
