Fun is subjective, but we know that everyone is up for a trip to theme parks. Theme parks are where “dreams come true” – we experience all kinds of fun through different rides, games, and attractions.
If you are looking for fun that theme parks have to offer, then we’re here to provide you with Ireland’s best theme parks to check out!
How much does theme parks cost?
Theme parks can be fun, but there are some that will cost significantly more or less, depending on their attractions and other factors. To make it easier to understand, here’s a general guide on how theme parks cost on an average.
Do take note that costs may vary.
Best Theme Parks in Ireland
To start us off, here’s our selection criteria in choosing the best theme parks in Ireland included on our list.
1. Tayto Park

Range of Attractions | ★★★★★ |
Cost | ★★★★★ |
Safety | ★★★★★ |
Experience | ★★★★☆ |
First on our list is the famous Tayto Park, home to Europe’s largest wooden roller coaster, Cú Chulainn and Ireland’s only water flume ride, The Viking Voyage!
This theme park offers a wide range of attractions from different rides to a complete zoo, and even a park designed for kids! They also offer nine different rides and attractions where they introduced their newly developed ride, the Dino Dash.
For your toddlers and kids, they have the Junior Zone to keep them entertained with its 17 different rides and attractions. Some of these are the Steam Train Express, Honey Pot Bears, Pony Rail, and many more.
Aside from the theme park, Tayto offers a petting zoo where over 23 mammals, 20 birds, and four farm animals are kept and open for petting. So if you’re kids love animals, this a one of the best places to visit, in our opinion.
If we are going to nitpick Tayto, it would be their opening and closing time. They are only open for eight hours and do not provide night attractions, which is kind of a letdown.
Overall, if you are looking for a theme park that will satisfy your family and friends with its wide range of attractions, Tayto Park will surely be the best choice for your party!
Pros
- Caters to different age groups
- Offers a petting zoo
- Europe’s longest wooden roller coaster and Ireland’s only water flume ride
Cons
- Short operating hours
- No nighttime attractions

Inclusive Parks for Everyone!
“We visited as a family in August 2021. This was the first time we took our autistic son to a theme park of this size. It was only made possible via the ‘VIP’ system as his neurodiversity makes queuing near impossible for him. Thank you Tayto park for helping make this day happen for him and us, it was an amazing day, and was so great to see him feeling good instead of coping with the usual day-to-day challenges & stresses of being neurodiverse in a neurotypical world.” – Kara Travalya, TripAdvisor
A Brilliant Brilliant Day
“Brilliant day today at Tayto Park, my little girl and nephew loved it, even with covid it still felt normal unlike other Santa’s we have been too. It wasn’t rushed there were no big queues and wasn’t overcrowded. All the staff were very friendly and helpful also compared to other Santa’s the toys were the best quality we have received. Will definitely be back next year 😊” – Sara M, Trip Advisor
